How do lock dates work in Odoo Accounting?
The Odoo Accounting module offers a ‘lock date’ option to stop changes being made to closed accounting periods. Users can set a monthly lock date, such as the 7th of the next month, and a fiscal lock date for the end of the year. After these dates are set, users cannot change, add, or remove entries from those periods.
The Odoo Accounting module also lets users set different lock dates for posting entries and creating invoices. When calculating GST, the ‘lock date’ feature helps keep tax filings consistent after a team submits them. Users can also turn on “secure entries” to add tamper-evident hashing to posted journal items, which helps with audit protection.
